Coming out of months of isolation, during which we all turned to both nature and art for solace and support, this festival is all about interweaving the two, in a programme that will hopefully help us to reconnect with the important things in life; writing, poetry, art, music, the natural world and each other.
Audiences will be reduced but most of our seated events will also be live streamed, to ensure that we reach the widest possible audience. We invite you to gather with our truly stellar line-up of artists and nature experts, in a potent celebration of what we value most.
The Shaking Bog - in partnership with our friends at Fighting Words - presents a special programme of workshops for children of all ages that interweaves art and nature through creative expression and imagination. Special guest artists and nature experts will offer a broad palette of participatory opportunities.
Whether you like composing music, crafts, writing or graphic fiction, critters, carpentry, drumming and storytelling - there will be something for you! If you fancy making a morning out of it, you can join more than one workshop before you join in with the final celebration.
(NB. Please note that booking is essential for all events. Please come in suitable footwear and be prepared for all weathers.)
Celebrating the renewed interest in nature that many of us shared during lockdown, The Shaking Bog offers a series of nature trails led by highly specialised experts with varied interests and wide-ranging knowledge.
(All Sunday morning trails begin from outside Knockree Hostel. Please arrive at 15 minutes before departure time. Easy to moderate trails. Sturdy footwear essential. Prepare for all weathers & wear suitable clothing - long sleeves and trousers recommended. Booking is required.)
Interwoven into this year’s programme are a number of Associated Events that the The Shaking Bog is delighted to co-present.
