As the seasons turn towards autumn and the swallows prepare for their great migration, Catherine Nunes, Director of Wicklow’s Shaking Bog Festival leads us through the countryside with an interwoven tapestry of conversations, readings and reflections.

Selina Guinness’s memoir Crocodile by the Door (Penguin) was shortlisted for the Costa Book Awards in 2012. She is a lecturer, writer and sheep farmer.
Vahni Capildeo’s poems Tending & Welcome (as featured in the podcast) are from her celebrated collection Venus as a Bear (Carcanet). She was the winner of the prestigious Forward Prize in 2016.
Thomas Pakenham is an internationally renowned writer, historian and lover of trees. His many books include Meetings with Remarkable Trees andThe Company of Trees; A Year in a Lifetime’s Quest (Orion).
Artist Gráinne Cuffe is a leading figure in contemporary Irish printmaking. Her stunning etchings of flowers can be found in major collections both in Ireland and abroad.
Professor Jane Stout is Professor of Botany at Trinity College Dublin where her research expertise is in the field of ecology, with an emphasis on the human impact on biodiversity.
