This year, all tickets are being sold through the Mermaid Arts Centre platform, found at mermaidartscentre.ie. Even free events must be booked in advance, and tickets will be scanned at the door. Please ensure to have your tickets on hand at the door. We encourage the use of digital tickets, in line with ‘keeping it green’.
Knocksink Wood is within easy walking distance from Enniskerry village, which is accessible on public transport (see more info below). On the 44, the stop called ‘Environmental Centre’ will drop you right by the entrance to Knocksink Wood. On the 185, the closest stop is in the village centre. From the clock tower, walk past Kingfisher’s Kitchen up towards the crossroads, turn right and continue past the church, and the entrance to the wood is signposted soon after on the left side of the road. The Education Centre is a 10 minute walk from the turning or a 1 minute drive to a small car park.
Google Maps Link ↗︎St. Patrick’s Church is a short 10 minute walk from the village and easily accessible from the bus stop. There is also some parking at the church.
Google Maps Link ↗︎Mermaid Arts Centre is easily accessible on public transport. It is a 10-15 minute walk from the DART station, where you can also catch many buses, including the 185, which serves as a direct link to our other venues around Enniskerry. The 145, 84, 184, 45A and 131 also continue on from the DART station, stopping much closer to the venue, on Bray Main Street.
For further information on your visit to Mermaid Arts Centre, feel free to check out their webpage.
Google Maps Link ↗︎Shop River is at the terminus of the 185 bus route (stop 4108 - known as Enniskerry Golf Club on the bus route), which makes this the easiest way to get there for the Samuel Beckett event, as parking is limited. Please note, there are no toilet facilities available here.
Google Maps Link ↗︎Our only location not easily accessible on public transport, Knockree Hostel is about a 35 minute walk and 5 minute drive from Shop River and the 185 bus. Parking is available but limited, so we recommend trying to carpool where possible.
Google Maps Link ↗︎As a festival that celebrates nature, we ask people to join us in considering the impact that the choices they make have on the environment. So we ask you to please use public transport or car share where possible, reduce, reuse, recycle and follow the Leave No Trace code observing the seven principles:
1) Prepare and plan ahead
2) Think of others
3) Respect farm animals and wildlife
4) Walk and camp on durable ground
5) Leave what you find
6) Dispose of your waste properly
7) Minimise the effects of fire.
At The Shaking Bog, we are committed to being as accessible and as inclusive as possible. Other than the nature trails, all of our venues are accessible. If you have any specific requests, do not hesitate to contact us at shakingbog@gmail.com, and we will do our absolute best to fulfil them.

"I loved that performance in the woods –
the quick glimpse of gorse, the songs of Joseph Campbell, then off to the Reconciliation Centre..."
